The “Hope for Rumuakunde” evangelistic initiative, supported by the Port Harcourt West Conference and the WAD Division, concluded with the baptism of 16 people. The church thanks all its partners and now calls for these new believers to be accompanied in their spiritual growth. All the glory belongs to God.
What began as a mission of hope culminated in a joyful celebration of faith as 16 precious souls were baptized at Rumuakunde, marking a significant milestone in the proclamation of the everlasting gospel and the advancement of God's work in the community. God used His servant, Pastor Chigozi Eti to reach out to the people.
The Hope for Rumuakunde evangelistic initiative was more than a series of religious meetings. It was an expression of the church's commitment to reaching people with the transforming message of Jesus Christ, nurturing spiritual interest, and providing opportunities for individuals to make a personal decision to follow the Saviour.
Behind this remarkable outcome were prayers, dedication, sacrifice, and the collective efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the programme. From those who prayed to those who offered practical support, every contribution played a valuable role in advancing the mission.
The baptism of 16 individuals stands as a testimony to the power of the gospel and a reminder that every soul matters in the sight of God. Each baptism represents a personal step of faith, a public declaration of commitment to Christ, and a reason for the church to rejoice. As Scripture declares in Luke 15:7, there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents. How much greater, then, is the cause for rejoicing when 16 individuals take this important step in their spiritual journey!
The success of Hope for Rumuakunde also underscores the importance of partnership in mission. We express our profound gratitude to the West-Central Africa Division (WAD) and the Port Harcourt West Conference (PHWC) for their invaluable support and commitment to the advancement of the gospel. Their contributions helped strengthen the mission effort and encouraged the work in Rumuakunde.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who stood with the programme through prayers, encouragement, resources, and other forms of support. Your commitment demonstrates what can be accomplished when God's people unite around a common purpose. Though every contribution may not have been visible, its impact formed part of this encouraging outcome.
However, the mission does not end with baptism. Rather, this milestone marks the beginning of another important responsibility: helping these new believers grow in faith, become firmly rooted in biblical truth, experience Christian fellowship, and participate actively in the life and mission of the church. Their continued spiritual growth will be an important measure of the lasting impact of this initiative.
As we celebrate what God has accomplished in Rumuakunde, we are reminded that the work of evangelism requires more than an initial proclamation of the gospel. It calls for sustained prayer, compassionate service, intentional discipleship, and a willingness to continue reaching communities with the message of salvation.
To God alone be all the glory for the lives reached, the decisions made and the hope proclaimed.“He that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)
