ENUC Churches touch lives across communities on day six of service week

On Day Six of the Community Service and Media Week (October 2, 2026), ENUC churches reached students and communities across Aba, Port Harcourt and Ahoada through health talks, moral education, school supplies, a sanitation exercise and free medical check-ups, showing the Gospel through practical service and pointing people to Christ.

Churches across the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference (ENUC) continued to take the message of Christ into their communities on Day Six of the Community Service and Media Week, October 2, 2026, combining practical service with health, moral and educational outreach.

At the ENUC Centre in Aba, the leadership and pastors of the Aba West Conference carried out a community service outreach at Iwukem High School and Marshal International Academy, Iwukem, Akwa Ibom State, that impacted more than 130 students, children and members of the community with the message of service and Christian care.

In Port Harcourt, Seventh-day Adventist Church GRA 1 reached about 670 students at Rumueme Girls School UBE Section and State Primary School, Oroazi. The church distributed items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, tables, chairs, pens and flyers, while sensitizing the students on personal health and environmental hygiene, avoiding sexual immorality, and staying away from get-rich-quick schemes, online betting and scams.

Similarly, Mgbuoba Church in Port Harcourt West Conference visited students and pupils of Highcast Academy, where the church addressed issues including sex education, drug addiction and the dangers of get-rich-quick schemes.

In Rivers West Central Conference, the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Off-Hospital Road, Obele, Ahoada, continued its educational and welfare outreach at Government Technical College, Ahoada Main Town, in Ahoada East Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the Port Harcourt City Centre District of Port Harcourt East Conference carried out a sanitation exercise at a community primary school, helping to improve the school environment and promote cleanliness and healthy living. The initiative also included a free medical check-up for community residents, providing basic health assessments and health education.

The activities form part of ENUC’s wider commitment to making the Gospel visible through service, compassion, education and practical action, demonstrating that community service is not only about meeting physical needs but also about touching lives and pointing people to Christ.
