West-Central Africa Division Adventist Women Ministries Advisory.
From the 14th to the 20th of April 2016, the Women Ministries had their advisory in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire at the Headquarters of the West-Central African Division. Attended this meeting, their leader from the General Conference, Ms. Heather-Dawn Small and Ms. Sessou Omobonike from the Division and the ten Women Ministries Directors from the Unions.
Before the Advisory commences, the WM went to the SOS village of Abobo located in the Northern part of Abidjan, with donations such as food items, clothes and even books for children. In appreciation of a job well done, Madam Heather-Dawn Small decorated 40 women of the SOS village.
On the Sabbath day all the women gathered in the Bethel Church for a thanks giving ceremony where they had two very important messages, one from Madam Kouadio, the representative of the Minister of the Promotion of Women, Family and Child Protection and of course, the Women Ministries Director from the General Conference. In both messages, the attendants were admonished to really reflect on their advisory theme which calls them to be agents of change in our society as women of value and: ‘’Woman, an agent of change in the society’’. In the afternoon, they all went out to distribute brochures entitled ‘’Great questions, eternal answers.’’
On Sunday 17th of April 2016, Ms. Heather-Dawn Small conducted the laying down of the first stone of the Women Training Center of Annan. After all these activities, Pastor Bindas, Vice-President of the Division in charge of Family Ministries and Special Needs, conducted the Advisory’s opening ceremony on Monday 18th of April at the Division’s Headquarters. During three days, the MIFEM Director from the General Conference, addressing the participants, urged them to walk in accordance to the theme of their advisory. To bring the meeting to an end, Ms. Sessou and all her guests celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the existence of the Women Ministries.
