The ongoing depth and surface reviews
The Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA) is at work on the campus of Nanga Eboko. From 16 to 19 May 2016, a dozen experts with varied skills comb through the institution’s life.
The Adventist Accrediting Association is performing a catch-up task. It had to review the procedures and functioning of the Cosendai Adventist University in Nanga Eboko in 2015 but could not do it. The members of the delegation arrived in Yaounde, Cameroon's capital, on Friday, May 13, 2016. After a Sabbath worship service in the various Adventist communities in the city, the experts have headed to Nanga Eboko, located around 170 kilometers from Yaoundé.
The team comprises the following leaders in Adventist world Education : Dr. John Wesley Taylor V, Associate Director of Education at the General Conference (GC); George Egwakhe, Assistant Treasurer for the GC; Dr. Willie Hucks II, Associate Secretary for the Ministerial Association of the CG; Dr. Patricia S. Jones, director of the Office of Global Nursing of Loma Linda University and Associate Director of the department of Health Ministries at the GC; Pr Chiemela Ikonne, Director of Education at the West-Central Africa Division (WAD). Dr. Osei-Bonsu Robert, Pro Vice Chancellor of Valley View University (Ghana); Dr. Emmanuel Takyi harrison, Dean at the University of Valley View; Dr. Constance C. Nwosu from Babcock University (Nigeria).
The members will examine the vision, the mission and the objectives of the university; its governance and administration as well as its financial, academic and spiritual life. All the details must be examined to make sure the institution complies with the ideals and principles of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The evaluation committee will meet with the on-campus students, and also with some alumni students not employed by the university. They will meet at the end the support staff to get an objective view of the management.
This expertise will conclude with a written report containing recommendations and suggestions that will certainly do good to the new leadership of the University. This is their very first baptism of fire.
