The mid-year meeting of the West Central Africa Division (WAD) was held in Abidjan from 6th to 7th May 2014. This meeting was special because it brought together - for the first time - the delegates from the 10 unions of the Division. Until December31, 2013, the Division used to have six unions; but with the reorganization four of these six unions, the number of unions increased to ten.
For two days, the delegates discussed various topics related to the progress of the work. Evangelism remained the major focus, including the "Mission to cities" project. Each union president had the opportunity to delineate his program and the cities selected for the evangelistic project in 2014.
WAD administration once again urged all unions to mobilize members for evangelism, this year being year of evangelism. They also stressed on the necessity to keep on with activities for true revival and genuine reformation within the Division.
Following this meeting, the treasurers of all the 10 unions and the personnel of WAD Treasury had a workshop by video conference with General Conference treasurer, Elder Bob Lemon. This session opened the new orientation desired by the administration of WAD: using the video conference to reduce travel costs.
