An International Conference on the quality of services in Adventist hospitals and Sanatoriums held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
From Friday 28 to Monday August 31, 2015, an international healthcare conference was held in the offices of the West-central Africa Division. The Conference is Sponsored by the Loma Linda University Health, Adventist Health International, and the SDA General Conference Health Ministries Department.
The conference dealt with the development of infrastructures to assist in sustaining and maintaining healthy hospitals. The improvement of the quality of services, finances and governance were discussed during the conference.
The aims of the conference
- Identify strategies to obtain finances for healthy hospital.
- Understanding the composition, the culture, the role and responsibility of boards of directors and executive committees.
- Identify areas that need to improve quality in every hospital and develop a quality improvement plan to implement.
- Identify practical and helpful tools and resources to strengthen and support mission hospital infrastructure.
- Identify and develop risks management practices in hospitals.
- Understand the role of chaplains in hospitals, as leaders.
- Provide opportunities for networking, sharing and collaboration.
There were 100 participants, administrators from the health care sector and those who work or aspire to work with international hospitals. They came from Loma Linda University (USA) and from ten other countries of West-Central Africa Division territory.
