Pastors and shepherdesses advisory in Burkina Faso.
From the 26th to the 27th of January 2017, all Burkina Faso Mission pastors gathered at the headquarters of the Mission in Ouagadougou where they held their advisory. This meeting organized by the Ministerial Association, recorded the participation of the Shepherdesses and the main facilitator of this advisory was Pastor Emmanuel Kra, the Secretary of the Ministerial Association of the Eastern Sahel Union Mission. The core theme was “Reach the World: Christ our Righteousness.” According to Pastor Isaac Djiguimkoudré, Executive Secretary of the Burkina Faso Mission, the selected theme was of a dual purpose: to give new orientations for the year and lay emphasis on the importance of the calling of the pastoral couple in the ministry. Using this opportunity, Pastor Emmanuel Kra gave instructions on the minister’s workbook (work specifications), the importance of unity among pastors, management of time, action plans, the role of the shepherdess, and of course, the mastering of the church manual. He believes that this program is welcomed because it will empower pastor “to work in unity with more professionalism for the furtherance of the work in Burkina Faso.” The training, exchange and orientation sessions that he conducted allowed pastors and their wives to conclude according to Pastor Marceline KAMBOU that these “will lead them into another dimension of the ministry under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Ben Issouf Ouédraogo, President of the Burkina Faso Mission satisfied with the meeting said: “we have had the necessary tools for our own good and that of our communities, and this will enable us to win souls for Christ.”
Expressing her satisfaction as participant and pastor’s wife, shepherdess Emma Ouédraogo said “we as pastors’ wives felt valued and promise to support our husbands in this ministry the more.”
The end of this Ministerial convention was marked by the handover service between Pastor Isaac Djiguimkoudré and Pastor Mubele Taong who became the new Secretary of the Ministerial Association of Burkina Faso. After these two days training that gave them the fundamental values to gain moral strength, pastors and their wives returned to their various fields with three basic recommendations from their trainer: praying, working, and smiling regardless of the circumstances.
