On Thursday, November 5, 2015 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, the President of the West-Central Africa Division of the Seventh-Day Adventists, Pastor Elie WEICK inaugurated the EBENEZER RESIDENCE, a block of apartments built by the Division to support missionary projects.
The EBENEZER RESIDENCE groups eight (08) apartments of four rooms each built at II Plateaux Vallon in the town of Cocody.
The inauguration took place in the presence of former Administrators (Pastors Ajibade and Wari), and new Administrators (Pastors ElieWeik, Kingsley Anonaba and Elder Emmanuel Manu) of the Division. The Unions’ leaders, the Division Heads of Departments and employees also took part in this ceremony.
EBEN EZER is a Hebrew word that means THE STONE OF RESCUE or “The Lord helped us until now” ... These are the words of the Prophet Samuel, after the victory of the people of Israel in EBEN EZER.
"Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us." 1 Samuel 7,12.The President Elie WEICK thanked Mr. Touré (the contractor), Mr. Apollos Bello and Mr. BOADI Mensah for their significant contribution to the project. Pastor Elie WEICK ran the building project when he was Head of Department in the Division.
Pastor Gilbert Wari, former President of the Division dedicated the Residence.
The apartments will be leased and the money raised will be used to support missionary projects.
The ceremony ended with a cocktail party.
