CENTRAL SOUTH CAMEROON CONFERENCE
ELECTION OF NEW ADMINISTRATORS.
Pastor Ferdinand Nko’o Mendouga replaces Pastor Samuel Abina Valendaise as President during the 7th general assembly of the Central South Cameroon Conference held from the 1st to the 5th of February, 2017 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The theme of this meeting was “Reach the World.”
Nearly 600 delegates met from the 1st to the 5th February 2017 in Yaoundé at Hôtel Vallée Verte to elect the leaders of the Central South Cameroon Conference. At the end of the meeting, Pastor Ferdinand Nko’o Mendouga, Pastor Bertin Ze and Elder Antoine Angoula were elected respectively as President, Executive Secretary and Treasurer.
During four days, the participants to this assembly presented their reports and elected the administrators, the departmental directors and the members of the committee.
From 2013 to 2016, there have been several reorganizations within the Central South Cameroon Conference territory. These reorganizations allowed the creation of three new administrative units that are meant to be very soon new conferences. This dynamic has allowed the increment of both church members and churches. Right from the beginning of the reorganization, the CSC Cameroon had only 218 churches with 31504 church members. Today this number has increased by 8464 new members and 133 new churches.
On Sabbath 4th February 2017 during the worship service that took place at Djoungolo2 Church, the new leaders were introduced to the whole community that gathered for the divine service. On this occasion, were also held the handover service and gifts were presented to retried ministers: Daniel Zo’o Zo’o, Ndouma Samba, and James Ntoung.
The President of the West-Central Africa Division, Pastor Elie Weick Dido who came for the ceremony admonished God’s people on this solemn day in a sermon titled “Remember Lot’s wife”, from a text carefully selected from Luke 17: 31-36. Speaking to the congregation, Pastor Elie said: “This opportunity is given to us only once. The Lord doesn’t want us to look back.” He also laid emphasis on the fact that we “shouldn’t allow our past to darken us.” During the meeting this idea came up as recommendations: “Look forward, leave quarrels aside and above all, respect the hierarchy because all authority comes from God.”
All the participants acknowledged that this assembly has been particularly a successful one. The administrators of the Cameroon Union Mission led out all activities of this meeting and at the end, all agreed to work for the success of the evangelistic campaigns that will take place from March 18th 2017, throughout the entire territory of Cameroon.
